The name's Franky but a lot of people call me Frodo. I'm a science and maths nerd with a love for science fiction, fantasy and generally weird books. Fandoms include Hannibal, Sherlock, James Bond, Cloud Atlas, Doctor Who, Elementary, The Hour and Marvel/DC. Bandoms are pretty much just Pink Floyd and Fleetwood Mac. If you want to ask me something, do so. I'm a recluse who was recently gifted with a macbook and wifi, so I never really leave my desk any more. I'm currently in recovery for some horrible crap so I might post the odd ranty personal post every now and again. I apologise in advance for the blog posts below.

Japanese were nowhere as bad as Nazis.

they were deffo worse.

I know, right? Nanking massacre, Unit 731, Manila massacre, Sook Ching massacre.. and not only.

marvel-slash-geek:

Empire of Japan, not Japanese people. It’s different. And yes, possibly they were worse.

R. J. Rummel, a professor of political science at the University of Hawaii, estimates that between 1937 and 1945, the Japanese military murdered from nearly 3 to over 10 million people, most likely 6 million Chinese, Indonesians, Koreans, Filipinos and Indochinese, among others, including Western prisoners of war.”

But again, they are not white, so Tumblr will just erase this part of history. Non-white colonialism? That’s impossible!

Let me tell you a story about my childhood.
As a toddler, my mum got me to stop using a baby bottle for milk by inventing this character called ‘the milk fairy’ who sent me little gifts and letters asking me to give away my bottles to less fortunate kids. From this, I gained a fascination with fairies and magic. I still have books by Cicely Mary Barker and others, with paintings and stories of flower fairies.
There was an elderly Polish man who lived around the corner from us, and he found out about this obsession of mine.
Every so often, he would buy these fairy statuettes for me and put them on our little rockery, where water trickled down into a tiny pond with 2 little fish in.
The one above has clearly lost limbs and wings, but it was one of around seven that were around the pond. Over the years, they got lost or broken, fell into the water because of storms or whatever. Dad cleared the broken ones away and i haven’t seen them for about seven or eight years.
While checking up on my little pond this morning, where some tiny goldfish now live, I noticed this one amongst some weeds dad had pulled out from the pond and dumped on the side. I cleaned him up and I think I’ll put him somewhere safe.
I still have a lot of tiny, indoor figurines in a box in my room of lots of fairies and pixies that various people bought me for christmas and birthdays when i was young.
The elderly man that bought these for me also made me two concrete toadstools, which he painted and hid in our garden.
My parents didn’t know where these things came from until they saw him placing one of the toadstools when he must have thought no one was home.
I genuinely had no idea who had given me these toadstools and fairies, I assumed it was either my parents or my grandparents. I never thought to ask, once the magic and belief wore off as i grew up.
I found out on the way to the elderly man’s funeral a couple months ago. My mum assumed she had told me before, and was surprised that I had never asked.
That man was a wonderful contribution to the magic of my childhood, and finding this old thing has brought back a lot of happy memories, which I think will help me in the coming days and weeks, since I’m starting to get side effects of my increased medication.
Anyway, just wanted to post this somewhere.

THIS IS NOT OK. :(

IMPORTANT SIGNAL BOOST PLEASE

WHAT THE FUCK

WELL FUCK EVERYTHING!
I WORKED FOR AN NGO THAT WAS TRYING TO SAVE TIGERS FOR ABOUT HALF A YEAR, PEOPLE ON THE STREETS SPIT AT ME AND THREATENED ME (WHICH IS NOT THE POINT) BUT YOU LISTEN UP:
THERE ARE ONLY 3.200 WILD TIGERS LEFT ON THE ENTIRE WORLD
97% OF THEIR HABITAT HAS BEEN BURNED DOWN OR REMOVED OTHERWISE
3 OUT OF 9 TIGER-SUBSPECIES HAVE ALREADY DIED OUT
THE SOUTH-CHINESE TIGER HASN’T BEEN SIGHTED IN OVER 30 YEARS
THEY ARE SKINNED ALIVE (AS ARE MOST ANIMALS) BC YOU CAN REMOVE THEIR FUR EASIER WHEN THEY ARE STILL BLEEDING
NO EXCEPTIONS FOR CUBS
SOME PEOPLE HUNT THEM BC THEY THING A TIGER PENIS MAKES THEM BETTER IN BED (I’M NOT KIDDING)
EXPERTS CLAIM THAT IF THE KILLING GOES ON, TIGERS WILL BE ENTIRELY EXTINCT IN 2022

SAVE THE TIGERS.
I WANT MY CHILDREN, MY CHILDREN’S CHILDREN, AND MY CHILDREN’S CHILDREN’S CHILDREN TO KNOW WHAT TIGERS LOOK LIKE WITHOUT EXPLAINING IT USEING TEXT BOOKS AND STUFFED ANIMALS.
THIS DEEPLY UPSETS ME. PLEASE SAVE THE TIGERS.
SAVE MY FAVOURITE BIG CAT.

Casual reminder that in one of Leonardo da Vinci’s many notebooks containing innumerable artistic and scientific sketches and notes of incomprehensible importance, there is a sketch of two penises with legs and tails walking towards a crudely drawn anus.
The sketch was most likely done by Leonardo’s apprentice Salai, who was not only very likely one of Leonardo’s lovers, but who was also infamously mischievous. Better yet, the anus is literally labeled “Salai.”
So either Salai drew these while Leonardo wasn’t looking just to annoy his boyfriend, or Leonardo himself put actual time and energy into drawing these. Either way, the human race is truly blessed to have made such a discovery.
There are dick drawings like the ones you see on desks in school in Leonardo da Vinci’s notebooks. Please cherish this information.
